Research-Practice Partnership Series: Conversations between Partners – Residential Child Care Project & Waterford Country School

Hear a conversation between members of a longstanding partnership on the interplay of research, practice and policy in their work focused on supporting children, families and staff in therapeutic care settings. A panel of research and practice-side partners from the Residential Child Care Project and the Waterford Country School will recount how their partnership began, their shared goals, and mutual successes and challenges in their work together.

Panel includes:

  • Michael Nunno, senior extension faculty emeritus for the Bronfenbrenner Center for Translational Research and Cornell Human Ecology. His work has examined maltreatment in out-of-home care, how children die in restraints, the dynamics of restraint episodes and how organizational climate and culture relate to critical incidents.
  • Sharon Butcher, director of education and school principal at Waterford County School
  • Bill Martin, former executive director at Waterford County School

The Research-Practice Partnership series is an event held in concert with the David M. Einhorn Center for Community Engagement.
